Kaitlyn ChinI am truly honored to receive a Helen Gee Chin Scholarship. I am grateful to have had the privilege of Simo Helen’s guidance in my study of martial arts. Being among the first group of children Simo Helen taught the 24-Movement Tai Chi form and the Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan form, I still remember the countless hours she spent with us at the academy. Oftentimes, she sat on a chair, hugging her knees, carefully watching and refining our forms. I consider this part of Simo’s legacy as we continue to perform, compete and teach the next generation the tai chi forms. Thank you for your generosity.
– Kaitlyn Chin

I am honored to accept the HGC Scholarship and to continue the legacy that Simo Helen Gee Chin left behind. She always stressed the importance of balance between school and martial arts and I cannot think of anyway greater to honor her and the entire CCMAA community than to accept this scholarship and utilize it to pursue my future.
